For April Fool's, kids of all ages got a throwback to the 80s with the surprise appearance of the PAC-man game in Google Maps. The experience generated never before seen levels of user love and product usage - supported with a playful social campaign complete with an 80s takeover of our channels. 

 
 

Results

  • The PAC-Maps campaign generated over 2 Billion social impressions, outdoing 2014.
  • On March 31st,  the Google Maps brand received +653% more social mentions than the past year’s average daily social mentions.
  • PAC-Maps engaged users from 78 countries and Google Maps achieved a trending status on 4 different platforms: Twitter (global & national), Facebook, Buzzfeed and Reddit
